Long Island Group Search and Rescue (LIGSAR) Academy

The Long Island Ground Search and Rescue Academy was established in November 2005 with the intended purpose of creating a training environment that would centralize and standardize Emergency Services training amongst the eight squadrons of Long Island Group. The curriculum has been designed to not only match but to enhance the Emergency Services program set forth by National Headquarters. Furthermore, the LIGSAR Academy has successfully been able to create and sustain a higher standard of training while promoting Emergency Services Search and Rescue within the Civil Air Patrol.
